A CLEARER WAY TO CHARTER
Kokomo Charters is a luxury yacht charter brokerage representing privately owned yachts throughout Florida’s Gulf Coast. We make the process easy by showing you an Estimated Charter Total and separating your booking into three clear components: the vessel, captain/crew, and fuel.
The Estimated Charter Total shown on our website is designed to give you a realistic picture of your expected overall charter cost before you book. During online booking, the three components are shown separately so you can clearly see what you are reserving and what you may choose to prepay.

THE THREE COMPONENTS OF YOUR CHARTER
Vessel rental
RequiredYour yacht reservation is the required component of every booking. Choose your yacht, date, start time, and charter duration. Completing the vessel reservation secures the yacht for your outing.
Captain/crew
Independent selectionEvery standard day charter requires a qualified independent captain selected and hired by you, the charterer. During booking, you may choose to prepay an estimated captain/crew deposit for convenience. This deposit does not select or assign your captain. Captain selection is completed separately through HireYourCaptain.com.
Fuel
Based on usageFuel is a separate charter cost. During booking, you may choose to prepay estimated fuel based on 10 gallons per charter hour. Actual fuel use depends on the yacht, cruising speed, and itinerary. If fuel use exceeds the prepaid amount, the additional cost is due after the charter.

After your yacht is reserved, you will receive a separate email from captains@hireyourcaptain.com inviting you to select your captain.

Once you confirm your selection, HireYourCaptain sends confirmation directly to both you and your captain and connects you with each other. Kokomo is notified so we can update the yacht reservation with the captain you selected.
BRING YOUR OWN CAPTAIN
Already have a qualified captain you want to use? You are welcome to bring your own.
Your captain simply submits their credentials through HireYourCaptain.com. The platform collects the required information and sends it through the same vessel-insurance qualification process used for other captains.
Once approved, the captain can remain on file for future eligible charters, subject to maintaining current credentials and applicable insurance requirements.

Kokomo Charters acts as the yacht charter broker. We help you choose and reserve the vessel, provide a clear Estimated Charter Total, coordinate booking details, and make the overall process easy to navigate.
How prepaid deposits are handled
For convenience, Kokomo may hold prepaid captain/crew and fuel deposits as part of the booking process. Captain/crew funds are passed through to the independent crew engaged for the charter, and fuel funds are passed through for vessel fuel reimbursement. Kokomo does not retain any portion of the captain/crew or fuel deposits for its own account.
Captain selection remains separate from the vessel reservation and is completed independently by the charterer through HireYourCaptain.com.
AFTER YOUR CHARTER
Captain/crew and fuel amounts shown during booking are estimates. If actual captain/crew charges or fuel usage exceed the prepaid deposits, any additional amount due is reconciled after the charter.
Fuel usage depends on the yacht, cruising speed, and itinerary, so your final fuel cost may vary from the estimate shown when you booked.
CHARTER STRUCTURE
For standard day charters, Kokomo Charters represents privately owned vessels. The vessel reservation and captain engagement are separate. You reserve the vessel through Kokomo and independently select and hire the qualified captain who will operate it. Full vessel-specific terms and responsibilities are provided in the applicable charter agreement.
FULL-SERVICE CHARTERS
Superstar, private fishing charters, and overnight / multi-day yacht charters are arranged as full-service crewed experiences. The HireYourCaptain selection process does not apply unless specifically stated.
